Blue Heron Metallic
Knitting Etc. is hosting a colorful and sparkly event this Sunday, June 2, from 1 to 4 pm: a Trunk Show from Blue Heron Yarns. Blue Heron is one of America’s premier hand dyers. Demian Savits, the owner of Blue Heron Yarns, will be here to show off his glorious creations. If you are unfamiliar with Blue Heron’s beautiful work, this will be a great opportunity to get to know them. If you have used a Blue Heron yarn before, you don’t need convincing that this will be a “must attend” event. Either way, your knitting this spring and summer will shine after this event!
Please RSVP to sales@KnittingEtcIthaca.com or 607-277-1164, so we know how many to expect. See you Sunday!
This cardigan in Rowan Felted Tweed is perfect for this chilly start of the long weekend! Rowan Felted Tweed (50% merino wool, 25% alpaca, 25% viscose), a venerable DK/sport weight yarn, has a wonderful palette of classy colors and gives the finished sweater a very nice drape. The pattern is from Textured Stitches, a book of elegant designs by our friend Connie Chang Chinchio, who started designing patterns when she was a Cornell graduate student in Ithaca.
Spot Hollow Farms natural Jacob sheep roving just arrived! We’re so excited to have this back in the store. It’s been missed. Stop in to feel its spongy, soft, rustically glorious texture – you’ll fall in love. It’s simply lamb like!
Spring is the season for lace knitting. This Clarus shawl by Laura Nelkin is knitted top down consisting of two triangles with a center panel. It looks lovely knitted in 100% fingering weight merino Island Yarn Papyrus. You can admire the shawl hanging in our court-side store window. Or come in to try it on, and pick your favorite color of Papyrus for the shawl.
