Shibui Trunk Show

If you missed the Shibui Mix Party last Sunday, the Shibui Trunk Show is still on display for a couple more days. Come to check it out before we have to ship back the trunk show. We have a great selection of Shibui yarns in stock including Baby Alpaca DK to Linen in both brilliant and natural colors. There is something for your next project regardless which season you are knitting for.

Shibui Mix Party (on Mar 24)

We are pleased (or maybe just downright excited) to invite you to Knitting Etc’s Shibui Mix Party!  On Sunday, March 24, from 1 to 4 pm, we will be hosting this Shibui event featuring Shibui’s trunk show and a presentation by our Shibui rep, Antonia, who will explain how to mix and match Shibui’s color-coordinated yarns to make something that is beautifully and uniquely your own.  And, here’s the best part: Antonia will be bringing Shibui yarn samplers and patterns for each of you to play with and take home!

This is going to be an awesome event, and we want you to share it with us.  Please reserve your space today.  The cost is $5, which you can pay here in the store, by credit card at 607-277-1164, or via this Paypal link.

Introduction to Lace Workshop

One 2-hour classes; $25 + tax & supplies

Many knitters often assume that the complex-looking texture of knitted lace involves equally difficult techniques. But most classic lace motifs are just made up of eyelets (yo, k2tog) in an otherwise straight stockinette fabric, so anyone comfortable with cast-on and basic knit & purl stitches can easily knit beautiful lace. We’ll knit a swatch of simple lace in this workshop, starting with single eyelets then working up to a short pattern repeat (which also introduces chart-reading). Please bring some leftover sock/dk/light-worsted yarn, and needles that produce a relaxed stockinette stitch for you with said yarn.

Spring Sale Starts This Thursday (Mar 14 – 17)

It’s almost spring!  We will celebrate spring’s arrival with an entire store full of bargains during our annual Spring Sale!

Get 10% to 60% off ALL in-stock yarns and fiber products (roving, tops, batts and curly locks), buttons, books and patterns starting Thursday, March 14!* The sale will continue through Sunday, March 17.  As with years past, to maximize display floor space and help with traffic flow, we will close off the door facing the parking lot. So enter through the door facing the walk way with Ithaca Bakery. All discounts will be denoted by color dots on the yarn cubbies. I haven’t decided on the color system to use yet, but we will post signs throughout the shop to explain the discount denoted by each color dot.

Come early for best selections and bring a friend (or two)!

* Sale prices apply to in-store purchases of in-stock items and cannot be combined with other discounts.
