Crochet Cuddly Critters (starts Nov 1)

Four 2-hour classes; $50 + tax & supplies

Using her own published patterns Stacey will guide you through crocheting one of her many truly adorable critters!  It’ll be difficult to pick a favorite, though I must say I’m partial to the owls.  These are appropriate for advanced beginner crocheters.  You can see Stacey’s critters, blog, and other designs at http://www.freshstitches.com.

Materials:

  • One of Stacey’s two published books: Cuddly Crochet or Crocheted Softies
  • Hook and yarn appropriate to your critter.  Stacey will help you choose if you’d like.

September Happy Stitching Hour Show & Tell (Sept 7)

Come to the next Happy Stitching Hour on

Friday, September 7, from 5 to 7 pm

Join us for this social knitting time, meet some new people, re-connect with others, and just hang out. We’ll chat, knit, stitch, wind down after the long work week, and shop this month’s Happy Hour Sale!  We will not be offering any knitting instructions or help, just a knitting visit…. The event is free. First come first serve. We have seats for approximately 15 people. Feel free to bring a snack or drinks to share!

Show & Tell

Happy Hour is a show and tell this month!  Bring in a project you’re proud of that you’ve made in a yarn you’ve purchased from us to show and tell to the group.  I’m very excited to see all the lovely things you all have made!

Double Knitting for a Double Sided Scarf

Three 2-hour classes; $35 + tax & supplies

Make either of two different patterns with this wonderfully clever technique.  Double knitting produces two “right” sides at the same time.  You will be making both sides of a double thick fabric at the same time.  Once you make one scarf you will want to make the second, too!  One scarf is a traditional Norwegian stranded design; the two color pattern is opposite on the reverse side.  The second is a Native American style with the colors again reversed on the opposite side.  The color changes are all hidden on the inside of the scarf.   Some experience reading charts will be helpful, but not necessary.  The Knitting Scarves from Around the World book is required for this class as well.  This is a good class for intermediate to advanced knitters.
