Knit Morse Knits (starts Oct 4)

Knit Morse Mitts ("LOVE")

Knit mittens with a secret message.  Susan will help you make these adorable and customizable mittens or fingerless mitts for yourself or a loved one. Work in a secret message of your choice in Morse code! Susan made hers (pictured above) say “love” for her college student daughter who is too old for “hearts.”  You will need fingering weight yarn in two colors, appropriate sized needles, the pattern, and a message!

Happy Hour (Friday, September 2)

Come to the next Happy Stitching Hour on

Friday, September 2, from 5 to 7 pm

Join us for this social knitting time, meet some new people, re-connect with others, and just hang out. We’ll chat, knit, gossip, stitch, wind down after the long work week, and shop this month’s Happy Hour Sale*! See this fall’s new yarns which have been rolling into the shop almost daily. We will not be offering any knitting instructions or help, just a knitting visit…. The event is free. First come first serve. We have seats for approximately 15 people. Feel free to bring a snack or drinks to share!

Cabled Alpaca Sweater

Six 2-hour classes; $65 + tax & supplies

This warm and fun sweater is full of easy cables, made in a chunky Baby Alpaca.  It is soft and cozy as can be.  This sweater is made in a bottom up construction style with seams at the sides and armholes, which will help to stabilize a heavy sweater.  Kiko will help you with simple modifications: quantity and placement of buttons, re-inforcing the button bands, length of sweater body and/or sleeves.  This will be your favorite sweater to keep you warm this winter!

Stitch Master Afghan

Six 2-hour classes; $60 + tax & supplies

Learn to knit many different stitch patterns and techniques for interesting and engaging texture. You’ll make a square from each “chapter” or technique in Barbara Walker’s Learn to Knit Afghan Book. This includes cables, slip-stitch color work, knit/purl combinations, lace, mosaic color, and more!  This class meets over the next 6 months to allow time to complete the afghan by the end of the class.
