Join us for this social knitting time, meet some new people, re-connect with others, and just hang out. We’ll chat, knit, gossip, stitch, wind down after the long work week, and shop this month’s Happy Hour Sale! We will not be offering any knitting instructions or help, just a knitting visit…. The event is free. First come first serve. We have seats for approximately 15 people. Feel free to bring a snack or drinks to share!

July Happy Hour Sock Sale

Summer is the perfect sock knitting season. (Of course, some of us knit socks non-stop, all year round). Sock projects are small and portable, easy to take to the park or garden for a summer evening. They also take little room in the luggage for that great summer roadtrip!

On this Friday, July 2, for one day only, take 20% off all in-stock sock yarn!* We have a great sock yarn collection: solid, variegated, or self-striping colors. Warm wool socks for the coming winter or cool cotton for the summer. Come early for the best selection!

Theresa George brought in her fair isle sweater sample. When I saw it being displayed behind the counter this morning, my first thought was: “Wow!”

Unfortunately, Theresa sized it for her daughter. As much as I wanted to see the sweater modeled, we couldn’t find anyone in the shop to fit the sweater into. Then in walked Celia, who was very excited when I offered her the opportunity to become “famous.” Thanks Celia!

CEY Sprout - organic chunky cotton. Check out the baby blanket sample at the shop (which is air conditioned, by the way):

SWTC Bamboo - a slinky drapey bamboo rayon tape to knit or crochet in lovely multis or solids. 250 yd per skein too!
Rowan Calmer - While a tad pricey, this yarn is such a pleasure to knit with. It’s a stretchy blend of cotton and microfiber perfect for garments, and won’t lose it’s shape and sag by the end of the day like most cottons.
Plymouth Baby Bunny - another cotton blend that is machine wash and dry-able. Super soft! It’s marketed for baby stuff, but check it out for yourself too. We have a crochet sleeveless top and a kid’s sweater at the store made in this yarn, just touch them to see how great this yarn feels.
CEY Firefly - a lovely blend of rayon and linen. Come see Deborah’s gorgeous fuschia tunic. This yarn will make lovely tops, scarves, skirts, anything summery really…
