For recent graduates of Knitting Basics, knitting a hat is a great way to learn double pointed needles (DPNs). Or you can learn a new technique such as cables, mosaic, or fair isle. Simple or complex, Kiko will guide you in this three week class to complete the hat pattern you selected. We have a great selection of hat patterns and samples on display in the store. Stop by to choose your favorite pattern and the perfect yarn for your hat.

Please have your pattern selected before class starts so that Kiko has a chance to look it over.

A Tasting of Summer Yarns (on Jul 11)

$10 + tax; can be used as credit toward purchase

Yarn Tasting 201406

Want a summer knitting project, but haven’t knit with plant-based fibers before? Have you seen a cotton or linen yarn in the shop that piques your curiosity? Well then, here is your opportunity to sample over twenty of the summer yarns sitting on our shelves at this time! Please join us on Friday, July 11 from 6 to 9pm, as we “taste” a number of summer yarns – linens, cottons, and blends from lace weight linen to chunky cotton. Many of these yarns are vegan. Rowan Softknit Cotton, Trendsetter Cin Cin, Filatura Di Crosa Tempo, and Lang Sol Degrade, to name a few, will be part of this evening’s fun. You will knit a sampler comprised of each of the yarns and we will have pattern suggestions for the perfect summer projects.

You will need to bring your own needles for this event as we won’t have enough to accommodate everyone. We recommend US2, 4, 6 or 7, and 9 as a starting point. The cost will be $10 to attend, which you can use as a credit towards a purchase of a yarn sampled that evening. We ask that you reserve a spot in advance to make sure that we have enough yarn for everyone. We will be offering nibblies, but you must bring your own wine if you desire. It is a Friday night after all!
